After WEB 2.0, SMS 2.0, our friends at MobMe launched MMS2.0 recently. It is a great service over which you can share photos and videos directly from your mobile phone with your friends completely FREE of any costs.
I always felt that there a wealth of photos on your handset which either never see a day of light or cost a bomb to the owner to get them transferred and printed. An applications which allows to share them easily with your family would be a great hit! MMS2.0 does exactly that.
Best part of this service is that it services everyone. A high end N95 user gets a downloadable client while a Nokia 2626 user can use it over sms and wap !! Now every one in your family including your uncles, aunts, parents can see your pictures on the go !! (provided they have some data access of cource.)
MMS2.0 application is powered by Mobisy’s Mobitop.
Enjoy the experience!
Mobitop powered Zook application has been launched by Nokia as a featured application !! WOW .. now that’s a good news ..:-)
You can download the zook client from http://zook.in/client.

L
So we recently expanded the compatibility of newstop to include majority of feature phones who support only J2ME as a run time environment and most importantly iPhone. Within short duration of launch, we already see good traffic to both these installations. We are still adding more phones to compatibility list next in list are blackberry and windows mobile. Do let us know your experiences with newstop !

If there is something that is booming right now, it is mobile software. In spite of the vast variety of incompatible platforms, the number of mobile applications is growing very rapidly. Business houses know that mobile presence is imminent for them, and developers just can’t stop themselves from making new applications for their mobiles. Given such a huge development activity, one would expect current day mobile handsets to be full of software to do almost everything. However such is not the case. The discovery and distribution of applications is still an open problem. People want to try out software on their phones, but they don’t know what software to try, where to get it from, etc.
App Stores from Apple, RIM, Palm are initiatives in this direction, and they have definitely solved a part of the problem. For these phones, there is atleast one place where software can be found. However all these initiatives are very specific in nature, and are usually not very unbiased. There is usually an entry cost for applications, and a number of other things one could of have done without.

There has to be something simpler, something more genuine. So there is Munimo. Munimo is a community initiative, started by Mayank Kumar and Mobisy association with MOMO Bangalore, where mobile enthusiasts come and share their favorite applications. With a very small number of contributors at the moment, Munimo has already started turning useful for new users. Go there, and you can see the favorite applications of most avid mobile users. You know of an application and you want to share with others, just log in to Munimo and add it to the collection. Your contributions will surely go a long way in making mobiles more useful for everyone.
In its current state, Munimo is simply a web portal where people come and tell about the applications they love. The next step for us is to push out Munimo mobile application for as many platforms as possible. Though it may sound like an ardous task, but thanks to Mobitop it essentially is just a few clicks job. Oops, not aware of Mobitop? For the uninitiated, Mobitop is magic wand for mobile application developers developed by Mobisy. Mobitop is an application platform which allows developers to convert their wap sites into mobile applications via a packaging tool. As of now, Mobitop is not directly available on Mobisy website, however that’s going to change soon. But feel free to get in touch with them, Mobisy team is more than eager to share their creation with everyone.
Once the applications are out, what would you like to see more? If you got any ideas, please let us know. Ideas/Suggestions are more than welcome. Code to implement them - even more :). Just e-mail your thoughts to team at munimo dot com.
What do you think about a Mobile Application Profile (MAP). So you use a phone, and have a number of applications on it. The applications and their genre is what I call a MAP. When you move on to another phone, chances are that you are going to use a similar set of applications. What if all that happens by itself using your MAP. I think it’s very cool. What do you think?
Let’s make it happen.
Hey everyone,
You have been really vocal about how our earlier site was less than perfect ..:-)
We heard comments like “I had a look at your site but could not find much information, can you pls tell us what do you do?”
Or things like “There are hardly any details on your site”. To put all those complains to rest, today we launch our new and hopefully much better look. The overall content of the site has also gone through an overhaul and now there is an all new ‘developer’ page. Keep an eye on the page, we plan to launch lots of goodies for developers soon !!
Cheers,
L.
When the terrible events of 26/11 were unfolding in Mumbai , many of us at Mobisy were looking for news while on the move. We did not find anything notable so we decided to create a news aggregator using ‘Mobitop’, our revolutionary platform to create and distribute downloadable Mobile applications.
Today, we are launching the beta version of Newstop. Newstop is a downloadable Mobile application which aggregates news from different sources and delivers it right to the main screen of your Mobile phone. There is also a mobile friendly site to preview and download the application.

You can choose your own news sources from the menu. Our techie friends can also view aggregate of keyword searches on ‘Twitter’ and ‘Google Blog search’. For example, if I want to keep myself updated with all the tweets about Mobisy, I can simply add ‘Mobisy’ twitter feed to Newstop !!
That’s not all, the killer feature of Newstop is the ‘ticker’ which scrolls live news on the main screen of your phone. From the newstop menu, you can choose feed from one of the news sources as the ‘ticker’. For example, during the India-England cricket match, my ticker is set to Cricket news. ‘Ticker’ is truly a unique feature developed by Mobisy, a way by which an application can proactively service user’s content needs.

There are many more things you can try with Newstop menu.

BTW all this is absolutely free, so go ahead and carry your news with you on newstop.
Please share all your feedback to newstop@mobisy.com.
Cheers,
L.
p.s. Currently the downloadable beta version supports only Symbian S60 3rd edition handsets, we will keep adding more and more handsets in the near future. The download link is visible when you access http://newstop.mobisy.com using browser of a compatible Mobile phone.
We have rolled out Beta version of an exciting application powered by MobiTop platform with our colleagues from www.160by2.com
One can use 160by2 mobile application to send unlimited SMS all over India over data connection/wifi.This application uses mobile handset’s SMS inbox, editor and allows user to reply, forward options for all his SMS.
With technical jargons, 160by2 application is best example of Mobile 2.0 services, where we have merged web service and native mobile service seamlessly and user gets best of Mobile and Web.
if you are avid user of www.160by2.com and accessing its wap site, you might already see a link for application download. Alternatively, you can request for Beta invitation to us at beta@mobisy.com and we will send you invite.
we will be happy to hear from you so let us know what you think about application. Please send your suggestions and issues to us at feedback@mobisy.com.
So if you have data connection and S60 3rd Edition phone…your SMS bill is all set to be zero. Enjoy!
